We’re out there but may not know each other. This week JET met with the Executive Director, Regina Caines, of the Massachusetts Partnership for Diversity in Education (MPDE). MPDE is 8 years old and JET is 10 years old, yet we only came to know of each other recently thanks to an introduction by Allison Little at the MA Department of Higher Education. JET and MDPE share the goal of diversifying the teacher workforce in Massachusetts. JET will promote its paraprofessional teacher pipeline program through MPDE’s 15 member school districts. Here is a link to MPDE’s work in Cambridge. It is important to make districts aware that one of the largest pools of diverse educators is already working in their schools and poised to become teachers – PARAPROFESSIONALS. JET and MPDE look forward to building a strong partnership and supporting each other’s work.
