JET Year at a Glance
Once accepted to JET, aspiring teachers participate in yearlong learning and support that moves them closer to their ultimate goal of earning a bachelor’s degree and teacher licensure. Each year with JET follows a similar calendar, with specific topics and coursework progressing as participants advance their knowledge and skills.
June
Welcome to JET! Officially join the program after receiving your acceptance and enrolling in college.
August
Summer orientation with JET peers.
Meet your JET mentor.
September-December
Begin fall college classes.
Regular check-ins with your mentor.
January
Mid-year JET seminar with your JET peers and mentors.
Career learning and professional development
February-May
Begin spring college classes.
Regular check-ins with your mentor.
June
End-of-year seminar with your JET peers and mentors.
Graduate or transition to the next year with JET.
Annually
Renew your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Apply for the Massachusetts Paraprofessional Teacher Preparation grant.
Enroll in at least two courses per semester over the academic year.
