What is your favorite work related activity during this time?

Getting and responding to emails, it’s the closest to what normal is during this time.

If you could have dinner with one person, who would it be and why?

I’d have dinner with Dr. Huey P. Newton. I think he’s one of the most misunderstood and misrepresented people in American history, and to learn from him would be a great learning experience.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be any why?

Chicken, it’s versatile and can be prepared in an innumerable amount of ways, it’s perfect for any meal of the day and It’s easy and cheap to find.

What is your favorite book or who is your favorite author and why?

One of my favorite books is Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It by Charlamagne Tha God. It shows how he grew up and the life lessons he learned from the mistakes he made but also how he took advantage of the opportunities he was given and created for himself. I always feel it’s great to be able to learn from anyone you can especially if I don’t have to go through a bad experience.

What have you learned about yourself that has helped you cope in this COVID-19 environment?

I’ve learned that as much as I’m an introvert, being able to talk to and see people is very important. I’ve learned to appreciate the people around me more and let them know that they’re appreciated.

What is the best piece of advice you've received or a favorite quote that keeps you motivated?

It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe.
