JET in FY21 Commonwealth Budget
JET is thrilled to once again receive funding from the Commonwealth in its long delayed FY21 Budget. It became official in December 2020. JET wants to thank all its constituents in our partner school districts of Boston, Brockton, Chelsea, Fall River, Holyoke, Lowell Community Charter Public School, New Bedford, Springfield, and Worcester for contacting Massachusetts Legislators to share how JET benefits their communities. Their emails to the Chairs of the Senate and House Ways and Means Committees, Senator Michael Rodrigues and Representative Michlewitz, respectively, were clearly heard and heeded.
Our great thanks go to the MA Legislators Senator Patricia Jehlen and Representative Sean Garballey, who championed and sponsored our FY21 request. Thank you all for making it possible for JET to continue its work in helping urban public school paraprofessionals reach their goal of becoming licensed teachers in their district schools. JET is paving the way for thriving community teacher pipelines that diversify the teacher workforce and generate educators committed long term to their communities.
